Math is an important part of many nontraditional careers for women. Their jobs include welder, architect, plumber, uniformed special investigator, mold-maker, machinist, helicopter pilot, sheetmetal worker, and firefighter.
As an architect puts it, "When you're in school and you're looking at the stuff that they give you to do, you think, I'll never use that. And I used to think that all the time when I was in school, I'm never going to use that. I use it every day now and there's times when I think, I wish I would have paid more attention. Take the math. Take the math. That's my big thing, Take the math, because it was so hard for me."
